Visit 1 - Patient Evaluation – The first visit is the patient evaluation, where we assess the patient’s amputation, allow the patient to review samples of our work and discuss our restoration plan.

Visit 2 – Impressions – During the second visit, impressions are taken of both the injured hand or foot, and the opposing uninjured hand or foot. These impressions are then used in the sculpting process to ensure an exact match to the patient’s uninjured side. In some cases carefully selected donor impressions may need to be taken. The sculpting and fabrication of the new prosthesis takes place at our lab. This process may take a few weeks.

Visit 3 – Details – On the third visit your prosthesis comes to life. An artist sits with the patient, using them as a model, and adds incredible detail to the prosthesis, including matching skin tones, veins, freckles, hair and even tattoos. The nails are individually sculpted and crafted from a hard nail-like material and then painted to match existing uninjured nails. After the details are agreeably finished, it’s time for assembly. Smaller jobs may be assembled on site and delivered that same day. Larger, more complex jobs may need to be assembled back at the lab. This may take up to a week.

Visit 4 – Fitting – The fourth and final visit, if necessary, consists of a final fitting procedure. This procedure ensures comfort and satisfaction, and educates the patient about wearing and caring for their new prosthesis.
